PhD thesis defended in 1971 in the Institute of Evolutional Morphology and Ecology of Animals, AS USSR (Moscow).
Dr.Biol. thesis: "Principles of zoological diagnostics of soils" defended in 1986 in the Institute of Pedology and Agrochemistry, SB AS USSR (Novosibirsk).

Main directions of scientific research:
entomology (carabid and tenebrionid beetles);
ecology (zoological diagnostics of soils, successions, steppe research).
